Willard C. Perry was born on May 18, 1922 in Colorado. In 1941, he joined the Rohr Aircraft company in California and was employed by them until his enlistment in the Army Air Force on January 29, 1943. He received his pilot's wings at Pecos, Texas on April 15, 1944 and was transferred overseas as Air Transport Command pilot in Africa. Later, he volunteered for duty in India flying the "hump". He went "Missing in Action" on April 5, 1945 and was officailly declared dead on April 6, 1946. He is commemorated on the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.

2Lt Perry was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
