Viviano Poleselli was born on January 25, 1925. A former member of the 341st Bomb Group, 22nd Bomb Squadron, China-Burma-India theater of operations, he was killed in the crash of a C-47 troop carrier aircraft in China while he was assigned to the 27th Troop Carrier Squadron as a Sergeant and Radio Operator. He is now buried in the Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, San Mateo County, California, USA.
Sgt Poleselli was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China but his name is inscribed as Vivian Poleselle.
