Albert Irvin Prator was born on October 29, 1917. He was the son of Miles Drayton Prator and Myrtie Couch Prator. He served in the US Air Corps as a Second Lieutenant and Co-Pilot of an aircraft during World War II. He was Killed in Action on April 23, 1943 at the age of 25. Aboard B-24D #41-24279 "Betty-G", the plane crashed six miles from Chabua field (en route from its operational base) just before landing. He is now buried in the Magnolia City Cemetery, Magnolia, Columbia County, Arkansas, USA. Sgt Prator was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China but death date is inscribed as 1943-04-24.
