Lyndon O. Raff was born on January 25, 1918 in Minnesota. He served in the US Air Corps as a First Lieutenant and Pilot of an aircraft during World War II. 1Lt Raff died on October 29, 1943 at the age of 25 in Myanmar and is now buried in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Lincoln County, Nebraska, USA in a common grave with CPL Max K. Hall. Lyndon was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
