Harold L. Ragland was born on January 15, 1920. He was the son of George Ragland and Verna Carr Ragland. He served in the US Air Corps as a Staff Sergeant and Crew Chief of an aircraft during World War II. Harold died on February 4, 1945 at the age of 25 and is now buried in the Woodlawn City Cemetery, Adel, Cook County, Georgia, USA. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
