David Vensil Robinson was born on April 14, 1924 in Tulsa, Tulsa County, Oklahoma. He was the son of Richard Samuel Robinson and Thelma Doris Swift Robinson. He served in the US Air Corps as a First Lieutenant and Navigator of an aircraft during World War II. He was Killed in Action on July 9, 1945 in an air crash over India and is now buried in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Lincoln County, Nebraska, USA. 1Lt Robinson was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
