Burton N. Rodier, Jr. was born on September 8, 1920. He served with the 26th Fighter Squadron, 51st Fighter Group as a Captain during World War II. He was killed when his aircraft crashed into a mountain near Wai Chen Shan, China. He is now buried in the Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, San Mateo County, California, USA. CPT Rodier was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
