Arthur Hurst Rogers was born on June 6, 1922 in Blanding, San Juan County, Utah. He was the son of John David Rogers and Luella Hurst Rogers. He served in the US Air Corps as a Second Lieutenant and Pilot of an aircraft during World War II. 2Lt Rogers died on August 31, 1945 at the age of 23 and is now buried in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Lincoln County, Nebraska, USA in a common grave with F/O Finley and Tsgt Frega. 2Lt Rogers was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
