Howard G. Samuelson was born in 1916. He served in the US Air Corps as a Second Lieutenant and Co-Pilot of an aircraft during World War II. He was Killed in Action on October 23, 1943, flying aborad Curtiss C-46A-5-CU Commando #41-12325 in India and is now buried in the Lake View Cemetery, Jamestown, Chautauqua County, New York, USA.

2Lt Samuelson was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
