Raymond M. Sexton was born on March 12, 1920. He served in the 30th Transport Group during World War II as a Flight Officer and Pilot of an aircraft. He was Killed in Action on October 23, 1943 at the age of 23 in Burma Road and is now buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA. He also has a cenotaph located in Forbis Cemetery, Brownstown, Fayette County, Illinois, USA.

F/O Sexton was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
