Charles M. Shull was born on February 16, 1925. He served in the 12th Combat Cargo Squadron, 3rd Combat Cargo Group as a Corporal and a crew member of an aircraft during World War II. He died on August 4, 1945 at the age of 20 and is now buried in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Battle Creek, Calhoun County, Michigan, USA. Cpl Shull was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China but death date is inscribed as 1945-08-05.
