Aubrey T. Stewart was born on November 26, 1917 in Texas. He had been a pilot instructor in Florida before going overseas. Before reaching China he was in North Africa and India. Aubrey served in the US Air Corps as a Captain during World War II. He was Killed in Action on December 11, 1944 at the age of 27 over China and is now buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA. CPT Stewart was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
