Arlington R. Stoner was born on March 10, 1917. He served in the US Air Corps as a Second Lieutenant and Pilot of an aircraft during World War II. He was believed to be the sole fatality when C-46A Commando #42-60953 crashed on takeoff at Barrackpore (Station 19), India. He is now buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.

2Lt Stoner was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
