Paul Griffith Stromberg, Jr. was born on February 26, 1921. He was the son of Paul Griffith Stromberg and LaRue Radcliffe Stromberg. He resided in Howard County, Maryland prior to the war. Paul served as a 1st Lt., 2nd Troop Carrier Squadron, 443rd Troop Carrier Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. Paul died in the "Line Of Duty" of a non-battle related incident in India during the war. He is now buried in the Saint John's Cemetery of Howard County, Ellicott City, Howard County, Maryland, USA.
Lt Stromberg was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is also commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
