Stephen J. Surgent was born on January 8, 1923. He served in the US Air Corps as a Second Lieutenant and Co-Pilot of an aircraft during World War II. He died on December 8, 1944 at the age of 21 and is now buried in the Beverly National Cemetery, Beverly, Burlington County, New Jersey, USA. Second Lieutenant Surgent was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945.
