Morris Frederick Taber was born on June 12, 1913 Lewistown, Fergus County, Montana. He served in the 341st Bomber Group, Medium as a Colonel during World War II. He died on April 8, 1944 at the age of 30 in Hainan, China and is now buried in the United States Military Academy Post Cemetery, West Point, Orange County, New York, USA.

Col. Taber was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China but death date is inscribed as 1944-03-08.
