George D. Vigue was born in 1918. He entered the military service in Massachusetts and served in the 21st Fighter Squadron, 413th Fighter Group as a Major and Pilot of an aircraft during World War II. He was declared "Missing in Action" on July 4, 1945 and is commemorated on the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines. He also has a cenotaph located in Edgell Grove Cemetery and Mausoleum, Framingham, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.

Major Vigue was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is also commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
