Harry E. Wade was born in 1919 in West Virginia. He resided in Warren County, New Jersey prior to the war. He enlisted in the Army on July 31, 1942 in Newark, New Jersey. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in the manufacture of furniture and also as Single, without dependents. Harry served as a Technical Sergeant on B-24D #42-40930, 425th Bomber Squadron, 308th Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

Harry was "Killed In Action" when his B-24 was shot down and crashed near Hankow, China. He was originally interred in Schofield Barracks Mausoleum #2, Hawaii and was later interred at the Zachary Taylor National Cemetery, Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky, USA on May 12, 1949 in a common grave with his crew.

Technical Sergeant Wade was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
