John H. Wax was born on December 21, 1895 in London, City of London, Greater London, England. He came to America as a youngster. He married Marcie Lindsay on September 24, 1919, in Detroit Michigan by John J. Hunt, a Priest. When he and Marcie married he was a medical student and she was a nurse.
John served in the 1305th Army Air Force Base Unit as a Captain during World War II. He had also served in WWI. He died in a military plane crash along China's border with Burma. He is now buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA. He was a passenger of the aircraft at the time of his death.
CPT Wax was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
