John F. Cook was born on March 24, 1923. He served as a Gunner on B-24 #43-73245 that was shot down and crashed near Rangoon, Myanmar (Burma) during World War II. He is now buried in the Greenwood Memorial Terrace, Spokane, Spokane County, Washington. Sgt Cook was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
