John J. Doyle was born on January 3, 1920. He served in the 302nd Squadron, 30th Transport Group as a Corporal and Radio Operator of an aircraft during World War II. He was Killed in Action on November 18, 1943 at the age of 23 in China and is now buried in the Saint Mary's Help of Christians Cemetery, Pittston Junction, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, USA. CPL Doyle was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
