S/SGT William Robinson from Missouri was born on Oct 23, 1918. He was killed on October 19, 1944 when his B-26, (42-107565) “Roger the Dodger”, Tail # 88 was shot down by enemy fighters near the town of Redondesco, Italy. Rodger the Dodger was part of a mission to bomb rail bridges near Mantova (Mantua), Italy. Per MACR 9039, immediately after the bombing run, the plan was shot down by enemy fighters.
