Chester Donald Griffin was born on April 17, 1920 in Union County, Ohio. He was the son of Dana Bryan Griffin and Cleo Catherine Hamilton Griffin. He served in the 16th Fighter Squadron as a First Lieutenant during World War II. He died on May 19, 1943 at the age of 23 and is now buried in the Oakdale Cemetery, Marysville, Union County, Ohio, USA. 1Lt Griffin was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945.
