Victor H. Haag was born on December 9, 1917 in LaMoure County, North Dakota. He attended high school in Elgin and Fredericksburg, went to Texas Lutheran college in Seguin and was graduated from the University of Texas with a BS degree in pharmacy in 1940. Before entering the service in 1943, he held a civil service position at Kelly field as pharmacist.

Lt. Haag, who had been overseas in the China-Burma-India theater in November, 1944, was the pilot of a C46. He was Killed in Action on August 1945 at the age of 27 in a plane in Burma and is now buried in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, USA. Victor was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
