Addison B. Hartman was born in 1917 in Missouri. He was an Army transport flier in the Air Transport Command during World War II. He died on November 11, 1944 in the Asiatic theater and is now buried in the Mount Auburn Cemetery, Saint Joseph, Buchanan County, Missouri, USA. He was the Co-Pilot of an aircraft when the accident occured. 1Lt Hartman was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China but death date is inscribed as 1944-11-10.
