Lee C. Keeler was born on July 15, 1923. He was the son of Roy Keeler and Margaret Keeler. He served in the 7th Air Transport Command as a Corporal and Crew Chief of an aircraft during World War II. He died on February 5, 1944 at the age of 20 and is now buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA. He also has a cenotaph located in Pleasant View Cemetery, Montrose, Jewell County, Kansas.

CPL Keeler was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
