Charles W. Koch was born on December 23, 1916. He was from Ramsey County, MN and served as a gunner on B-24 #42-73064, assigned to the 10th Air Force. The plane crashed taking off from Pandaveswar airbase in India on a bombing mission, and all aboard were killed. He is now buried in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, USA. Ssgt Koch was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
