Buster Paul Meadows was born on May 14, 1920 in Ridgeview, Boone County, West Virginia. He was the son of Lonnie Casco Meadows and Mary Belle Carnes Meadows. He served in the US Air Corps as a First Lieutenant in the China-Burma-India theater during World War II. He was Killed in Action on January 18, 1945 on his first mission flying a B-12 out of Kunming, China. He is now buried in the Boone Memorial Park, Madison, Boone County, West Virginia, USA.

1Lt Meadows was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
