Thomas Edward Murray was born on June 15, 1920 in Belmont County, Ohio. He was the son of Michael Edward Murray and Martha Katherine Myers Murray. He served in the 1345th Army Air Force Base Unit as a Technical Sergeant during World War II. He died on November 10, 1944 at the age of 24 in India and is now buried in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Bellaire, Belmont County, Ohio, USA. Tsgt Murray was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
