Cornelius C. Rogge was born in 1922. He was the son of Edward Rogge and Elizabeth Uebinger Rogge. He served in the US Air Corps as a Flight Officer and Radio Operator of an aircraft during World War II. He was killed in the crash of B-24 42-73502 "Belle of the Brawl" on July 8, 1944 in Kunming, China. He is now buried in the Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Evansville, Vanderburgh County, Indiana, USA.

F/O Rogge was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
