Jack Everett Rundell was born on September 30, 1924 in Canon City, Fremont County, Colorado. He was the son of Carl Bender Rundell and Amy Etelka Harpold Rundell. He was the radio operator on B-24 #42-73064, assigned to the 10th Air Force, 7th Bombardment Group, 9th Bombardment Squadron. The plane crashed taking off from Pandaveswar airbase in India on a bombing mission, and all aboard were killed. Jack is now buried in the Howard Cemetery, Howard, Fremont County, Colorado, USA.

Tsgt Rundell was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
