Billy Gene Seago was born on March 31, 1925. He was the son of Eugene Richard Seago and Etha Evelyn Bramblett Seago. He served in the US Air Corps as a Flight Officer and Pilot of a P-51 plane during World War II. He died on January 20, 1945 at the age of 19 and is now buried in the Hico Cemetery, Hico, Hamilton County, Texas, USA.

Billy was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China but his middle name's initial is inscribed as M.
