Francis L. Viall was born on May 17, 1922. He served as a Sgt. in the U.S. Army during World War II. He served as an ATC Radio Operator in China-Burma-India theater. He was killed in action two days before his 21st birthday. He is now buried in the Stow Cemetery, Stow, Summit County, Ohio, USA. Sgt Viall was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
