Harlyn Stanley Vidovich was born on July 2, 1918 in Sparks, Washoe County, Nevada. He served in the 74th Fighter Squadron, 23rd Fighter Group as a Lieutenant during World War II. He died on January 18, 1944 in China at the age of 25 and is now buried in the Mountain View Cemetery, Reno, Washoe County, Nevada, USA. CPT Vidovich was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China but ranked as a Lieutenant.
