John Johnson Webster was born on March 15, 1917 in Cedar City, Iron County, Utah. He was the son of John Urie Webster and Mary Elizabeth Johnson Webster. John served in the 2nd Provisional Air Service Squadron as a Major during World War II. He was declared "Missing in Action" on February 24, 1944 and is commemorated on the Courts of the Missing, Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA. Maj Webster was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
