Archibald Henry Chandler was born on March 16, 1923 in Laurel County, Kentucky. He was the son of Gilbert Edwin Chandler and Hattie Ethel Pitner Chandler. He was the pilot on aircraft P-47D-15RE, #42-75701. 2ndLt Chandler took off from station 407 Thruxton, UK, on a patrol mission. He was shot down at 1045 over Ouilly-le-Tesson on June 10, 1944. He was last sighted near Caen in combat with enemy Fighter planes. Archabald died at the age of 21 and is now buried in the Grandview Cemetery, Maryville, Blount County, Tennessee, USA.
