When George John Kutulas was born on June 25, 1924, in California, his father, John, was 40 and his mother, Georgia, was 25. He had three brothers and one sister. He enlisted in the Army on March 12, 1943 in San Francisco, California. George was one of the Greek-American volunteers who served in Company C, 2671 Special Reconnaissance Battalion, an OSS operational group. This "Greek Battalion" aided the Greek armed resistance in 1944 in their fight against the occupying and then withdrawing German Army.

George returned to San Francisco after the war where he married Josephine Schembri and had 1 son. He worked as a machinist until he retired. He was very religious and followed his faith closely. He died on June 3, 2001 at the age of 76 in Sunnyvale, California and is now buried in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Colma, San Mateo County, California, USA.
