James Laubs was born on February 28, 1924, in Greencastle, Pennsylvania, the son of Mable and Jeremiah. He enlisted in the Army on April 7, 1943. James was one of the Greek-American volunteers who served in Company C, 2671 Special Reconnaissance Battalion, an OSS operational group. This "Greek Battalion" aided the Greek armed resistance in 1944 in their fight against the occupying and then withdrawing German Army. He died on May 10, 1984 at the age of 60 and is now buried in the Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg, Franklin County, Pennsylvania, USA.
