Denis Daniel Marketos was born on November 24, 1915. He was married to Gilda Skotta Marketos. He was inducted into the service on December 12, 1942, in Ohio. He served as a Technician 5th Grade during World War II.

Denis was a volunteer with ties to Greece who assisted the OSS Greek Operational group in 1944 as they aided the Greek armed resistance in their fight against the occupying and then withdrawing German Army. He was honorable discharged on December 31, 1945. T5 Marketos died on October 5, 1986, and is now buried in the Mount Peace Cemetery, Akron, Summit County, Ohio, USA.
