Alekos X. Orkoulas was born in Greece on January 12, 1920 to Xenophonos and Anna Levedors Orkoulas. Alekos was a retired restaurant owner who owned Reed's Restaurant in the Bronx. During WW II, Alekos was a sergeant in the U.S. Army and served in the 122nd Infantry Battalion. Within the battalion, he was in Special Reconnaissance which was under direction of the Office of Strategic Services that conducted guerilla operations against the Germans in Greece. Alekos died on November 27, 2008 at the age of 88 and is now buried in the Gregory M. Pahules, USA.
