Steve Voulgarakis was born on September 14, 1920. He enlisted in the Army on March 25, 1942 in New York. Steve was one of the Greek-American volunteers who served in Company C, 2671 Special Reconnaissance Battalion, an OSS operational group. This "Greek Battalion" aided the Greek armed resistance in 1944 in their fight against the occupying and then withdrawing German Army. He died on February 10, 1996 at the age of 75 and is now buried in the Readsboro Village Cemetery, Readsboro, Bennington County, Vermont, USA.
