Emanuel Nick Zaphiris was born on February 7, 1911. He enlisted in the Army on June 20, 1941 in Alabama. Emanuel was a volunteer with ties to Greece that assisted the OSS Greek Operational group in 1944 as they aided the Greek armed resistance in their fight against the occupying and then withdrawing German Army. he died on September 21, 1992 and is now buried in the Pine Crest Cemetery, Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama, USA.
