Edward S. Pinkowski was born in 1908 in New York. He resided in Erie County, New York prior to the war. He enlisted in the Army on March 3, 1942 at Fort Niagara, Youngstown, New York. He was noted as being employed in woodworking and also as Single, without dependents. Edward served as a Private First Class, 13th Infantry Regiment, 8th Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II. He died in the "Line Of Duty" of a non-battle related incident on June 15, 1944, and was buried first in the Lisnabreeny Former American Military Cemetery in England. The cemetery closed in 1948 and his remains were exhumed and transferred. PFC Pinkowski is buried now in the Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, United Kingdom.
