David Lanier Ozbolt was born on December 27, 1920. A graduate of schools at Dothan, Lt. Ozbolt was also associated with National Airlines in Tallahassee and Eastern Airlines in Montgomery Alabama before his enlistment in the Air Force. He was a pilot with the 839 AAF Bomber Group, stationed in England during WWII. On July 20th 1944, he was killed while piloting a B-24 Bomber of the 836th bomb squadron from the 487th bombardment group based at Lavenham airfield. His aircraft collided with another aircraft, a B-17G Flying Fortress also based at Lavenham. 1LT Ozbolt is now buried in the Oakland Cemetery, Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida, USA.
