Frederick Eagle Wilson, Jr. was born in 1921 in New Mexico. He was the son of Frederick Eagle and Mona Heard Wilson. He resided in Bernalillo County, New Mexico prior to the war. He enlisted in the Army on January 7, 1942 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in the manufacture of automobiles and also as Single, without dependents.

Frederick, Jr. served as a Second Lieutenant and Co-Pilot on the B-17 "Dorsal Queen" #42-30264, 551st Bomber Squadron, 385th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. His plane, while on a return mission from Reims, France, was involved in a mid-air collision with B-17 #42-3290 "Raunchy Wolf" also known as "El Lobo." They crashed at Tillingham Hall Farm, Bulphan, England. The entire crews of both B-17's were killed except Ssgt John J. Adams of the Dorsal Queen who was the only survivor.

2LT Wilson is now buried in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Lincoln County, Nebraska, in a common grave with SSGT Binford, 1LT Coomes, TSGT McMillan, and SSGT Shepherd.
