Jesse Eugene Rouintree was born on June 20, 1922, in West Plains, Missouri. He was the youngest child of Harvey Leander and Margaret Baty Rouintree.
Jesse served in the 386th Fighter Squadron, 365th Fighter Group, as a Second Lieutenant and Pilot of the P47D #42-26386 during World War II. He was killed in a dogfight with Fw-190 at 1700h, during a flight to Aachen, Germany, on an armed col. support mission. His plane crashed at Obbicht, Netherlands. 2Lt Rouintree is now buried in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, West Plains, Howell County, Missouri, USA.
