Therrell Ivan Surtees was born on August 5, 1917. He was the son of Thomas Surtees and Marie Pinn Surtees.
Therrell served in the 41st Armored Infantry Regiment, 2nd Armored Division, as a First Lieutenant during World War II. He died on September 16, 1944, at the age of 27, and is now buried in the Mission Burial Park South, San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, USA. 1Lt Surtees was one of the 65 soldiers killed in battle during the liberation of the Limburg region of the Netherlands and Belgium.
