Virgil M. Fetherlin was born in 1910 in Amwell Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of William A. Fetherlin and Allie R. Yorty Fetherlin.
Virgil served in the 9th Field Hospital as Technician 4th Grade during World War II. He was Killed in Action on December 27, 1944, in Verviers, Belgium, when his station was directly hit by a VI Flying Bomb during the Battle of the Bulge. T4 Fetherlin is now buried in the Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Hombourg, Belgium.
