Hilario Rodriguez Escamilla was born on October 21, 1919, in Vidor, Texas. He served in the 405th Bomber Squadron, 38th Bomber Group, Medium, as Staff Sergeant and a crew member of the B-25J Mitchell #43-28035 during World War II.

On October 2, 1944, he was on the crew of the North American B-25J Mitchell #43-28035 when they took off during a mission in the South Pacific. They were to attack Japanese defenses at Boeli Sarani Jetties, northwest of Buli Bay, Halmahera Island, Indonesia. MACR records show that four men of the crew were killed or missing.
SSgt Escamilla is now buried in the Panteón de Dolores in Monterrey, Mexico.
