James T. Price entered military service in California. He served in the 361st Fighter Squadron, 356th Fighter Group, as a First Lieutenant and Pilot on the P-47 #42-74709 at the time of his death. He was Killed in Action on December 16, 1943, when he took off in adverse weather. A plane believed to have been 1Lt Price crashed into the North Sea approximately 3 miles northeast of Felixstowe, England.
1Lt Price's body was never recovered. His name is memorialized on the Tablets of the Missing, Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, United Kingdom.
